October Ghost Hikes at Fort Fisher

Prepared to be scared at this year’s Ghost Hike to be held at Fort Fisher. The free event will take attendees into the park at nighttime to hear ghost stories from the Fort Fisher and Wilmington area. One of the famous ghost stories is of the of an old confederate guard standing on top of the dunes or next to a tree. People have even caught evps (electronic voice phenomena) there at times.
If you are not sure what those are it is when someone catches a voice or sound that was not there when they were recording but showed up when they were played back.
This walk isn’t like a haunted house where there are actors waiting to scare you or anything but rather just a hike to hear stories and possibly experience the real thing.

Please note this will not be taking place at the historic site but rather the state recreation area, which is half a mile south of the historic site. Guest are urged to arrive at 8:00pm at the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area visitor center. Space is limited and reservations are required. Call 910-458-5798 in order to reserve your spot! Hikes will be held on October 23rd, 24th, 29th.
